Col de Petit St. Bernard
					The alternative route from Bourg St. Maurice takes you over this 'average' Col. The bends are well cambered, and only occasionally steep (not quite small front ring though). There is some history here, with the remains of a Hospital and evidence of concrete battlements littering the summit of Col de Petit St. Bernard.
					The descent into Italy is good, but not outstanding with tunnels. The road surface is quite loose on the French side, with wide sweeping bends and shallow gradient
					and quite wide too, but steeper, for overtaking on the Italian side - so that's my preferred way round (France to la Thule, Italy).
